Why this page exists

Required by Michigan law.

Michigan law (MCL 380.1308) requires every school — public and nonpublic alike — to carry out a set number of drills each school year, to document each one, and to publish that documentation on the school website within 30 days of the drill. The record must stay online for at least three years.

Each school year Zion completes five fire drills (three of them before 1 December), two tornado drills (one of them in March), and three safety or security drills (one before 1 December and one after 1 January). The counters above show our progress against each of those requirements.
