3rd, 4th & 5th Grade

The focus of third grade is the motto, “I can do it myself.”  Third grade is about trying to complete assignments and tasks independently.  As readers for two full years, students are encouraged to find enjoyment from books.  The third grade math year centers on a review of addition and subtraction and begins the journey through the multiplication tables.  Third graders begin creative writing with details and descriptions becoming key in sentences and paragraphs.

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no ore death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

I teach third through fifth grade and my students call me Ms. Newkirk or Ms. N. I have been teaching for
six years. The staff and students are great at Zion Lutheran School, and I love that I am able to share my
faith openly.

I attended Saginaw Valley State University, obtaining a teaching certificate to teach Kindergarten
through 8 th grade for general education and social studies.
While I am not teaching my hobbies are drawing, reading, hiking, and traveling. My family consists of my
